"CHAMBRE DE VAN GOGH" GUIDED VISIT
Discover Van Gogh's last housing at "l'Auberge Ravoux" in Auvers-sur-Oise, where he lived in a modest attic room, bedroom n°5, lighted by a simple dormer and where Theo Van Gogh assisted his brother last moments.
The "suicide bedroom", has become an essential room that represents the painter's sensitive universe, and by superstition was never rent again. There is not much to be seen here... it's an empty room to be felt, there are no relics to be found, but rather a historical place that marked the painter's last state of mind.
Bedroom n°6 was occupied by another painter, less famous, Anton Hirschig. His simple furniture, show example of an artist lifestyle conditions at the end of the XIXe century.
This time travel takes end in the auberge's attic with an audio-visual presentation " Walking the way of Van Gogh", that recounts the artist's stay in Auvers-sur-Oise, through his works, letters and photographs. The spectator is invited to discover Auvers-sur-Oise through the eyes of the talented painter Van Gogh.
